August 2, 2025 – Sonora Police Department officials report that 39-year-old Christopher M. Hall of Sonora was arrested Sunday for felony weapon possession charges.
At approximately 9:17 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, officers responded to the 300 block of Fairview Lane on a report of an assault. As a result of the investigation, Hall was determined to be the aggressor and placed under arrest. Further investigation resulted in officers seizing an unserialized AR-15 as well as a high-capacity magazine. In 2022, California AB 1621 made possession of unserialized firearms, Ghost Guns, a felony offense. High-capacity magazines are a misdemeanor to possess, transfer, or sell in California.
Hall was booked without incident at the Tuolumne County Detention for felony and misdemeanor battery and weapons charges.
It's important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they've been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. This principle is the bedrock of our legal system and should be respected by all.
