August 5, 2025 - WASHINGTON, DC – On the 60th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid last week, U.S. Senator Jacky jacky rosen nevada senator 2025Rosen (D-NV) helped introduce legislation to repeal the Medicaid cuts in the extreme Republican budget bill, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. In addition to repealing these harmful measures, the legislation also includes a permanent extension of the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits — which Senator Rosen has long championed.

“The cruel Medicaid cuts in the extreme Republican budget law will kick more than a hundred thousand Nevadans off of their health care and gut funding for hospitals in our state – all so Washington Republicans can pay for more tax cuts for billionaires,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to help introduce a bill to repeal these Medicaid cuts and protect Nevadans’ access to quality, affordable medical care.”

Senator Rosen has been a vocal opponent of Republican efforts to gut Medicaid and undermine the ACA. She helped introduce the Health Care Affordability Act to make permanent the ACA’s enhanced premium tax credits — ensuring that Nevada families can continue affording coverage beyond 2025. Senator Rosen has also introduced the bipartisan REDI Act to allow new doctors and dentists to defer student loan payments interest-free during residency, encouraging more providers to serve in underserved and rural Nevada communities. She also introduced the bipartisan SPARC Act, which creates a student loan repayment program for specialist physicians working in rural areas—another step toward addressing workforce shortages and improving health care access across Nevada.
