August 5, 2025 - SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation on Monday announced the beginning of public negotiation sessions with the Sites Project Authority for a Partnership Agreement for the proposed Sites Reservoir Project.

Reclamation and the Sites Project Authority are partnering on capacity interest in the project to construct a new 1.5-million-acre-foot offstream reservoir, approximately 10 miles west of Maxwell, CA. The agreement to be negotiated supports the reservoir project by outlining the terms and conditions to which each party must adhere.
The following negotiation sessions will be held in rooms C-1001 and C-1002 – 2800 Cottage Way, Sacramento, California 95825:
- Aug. 18 – 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Aug. 19 – 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to provide comments regarding this contracting action. Participation instructions and the proposed contract will be available at each session.
