Inmate Death at TCSO Jail Facility
August 5, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials report that just before 10:00 a.m. on August 3, 2025, TCSO Deputies were notified of a 62-year-old inmate feeling sick at the South County Detention Facility. While jail staff were speaking with the inmate, the inmate collapsed and lost consciousness.
Jail Correctional Staff and Jail Medical Staff immediately began life-saving measures until Fire and Paramedics responded, at which time the inmate was pronounced dead.
The inmate’s cause of death is undetermined pending an autopsy, but no foul play is suspected. And the identification is pending next of kin notification.
