For more information on closures in the Sierra National Forest, please contact your local ranger district. In the Bass Lake area, which is incurring the highest degree of tree mortality, there are various sites that will remain open to accommodate the large number of expected visitors due to higher water levels. Areas that are open include; Forks campground, Pine Point, Rocky Point, Willow Cove, and Falls Beach Picnic Area.
While 14 campgrounds on the SNF are closed at present due to tree mortality concerns, the vast majority of the campgrounds are open and taking reservations. Information about individual campgrounds can be found on the SNF website at; http://www.fs.usda.gov/sierra/.
