June 4, 2016 - Following the resignation of District 1 Board Member Joe Rabon, Mariposa County Unified School District (MCUSD) recently invited applications from eligible candidates for the vacant seat.

This recruitment effort has resulted in the verified candidacy of community member and soon-to-be-retired school teacher Doug Chappell.

Per Board Policy, the board shall interview the candidate at a public meeting (tentatively planned for June 16, 2016), accept oral or written public input, and select the provisional appointee by a majority vote.
