Fatal Pedestrian Collision: Yosemite Boulevard 

August 6, 2025 – Modesto, CA – Modesto Police Department officials report that on Tuesday morning, shortly before 5:00 a.m., Modesto Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision near the intersection of Yosemite Boulevard and Santa Barbara Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male pedestrian lying in the roadway. They immediately rendered medical aid; however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota Tacoma, driven by a Modesto man, was traveling eastbound on Yosemite Boulevard, west of Santa Barbara Avenue, when the collision occurred. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld at this time, pending next of kin notifications.

The roadway has since been reopened.
