UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WEEKLY CLAIMS - SEASONALLY ADJUSTED DATA

August 7, 2025 - In the week ending August 2, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 226,000, department of labor seal logoan increase of 7,000 from the previous week's revised level. The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.3 percent for the week ending July 26, unchanged from the previous week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending July 26 was 1,974,000, an increase of 38,000 from the previous week's revised level. This is the highest level for insured unemployment since November 6, 2021 when it was 2,041,000. The previous week's level was revised down by 10,000 from 1,946,000 to 1,936,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,951,750, an increase of 5,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 2,500 from 1,949,250 to 1,946,750
