Stolen Vehicle Evades Capture 

August 12, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, a stolen black 2016 Mazda Miata (similar to the one pictured below) was located by Deputies at the Yosemite Fuel Stop along Highway 41 in Coarsegold.

As they attempted to block the vehicle in, the suspect narrowly avoided hitting the patrol unit and fled the scene.

A short pursuit was initiated but was quickly terminated due to the suspect’s erratic driving, prioritizing public safety.

Do not approach the vehicle.
