August 14, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report on August 13, 2025, detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the United States Secret Service (USSS), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Tehachapi Police Department, and the Kern County Probation Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 23100 block of San Juan Drive in Tehachapi, California.

The warrant was the result of an extensive online investigation conducted by USSS and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office targeting individuals involved in the distribution and possession of child pornography. During the investigation, law enforcement identified a device at a Tehachapi residence that had distributed explicit child sexual abuse material.

Upon serving the warrant, investigators located and seized multiple electronic devices. A forensic examination of the devices revealed numerous files of child pornography, including over 600 images.

David Michael Curran, age 26, was arrested at the scene and booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility. He faces the following charges:

PC 311.11(a) – Possession of Child Pornography

PC 311(c)(1) – Possession of Child Pornography (Over 600 Images)
