Wanted Suspect Arrested
August 16, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday afternoon, Madera Special Enforcement Team (MADSET) deputies — supported by the Madera Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) and K9 Odin and his handler Deputy Schoonmaker — served a search warrant on Island Drive.
There, they took 40-year-old Brandon Johns into custody without incident.
Johns was wanted for vehicular manslaughter in a fatal August 2024 crash on SR-145.
He is also a registered sex offender who reportedly recently cut off his ankle monitor.
He is now in custody at Madera County Jail, held without bail.
