August 19, 2025 – Amador County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 18, at about 8:43 A.M., a deputy was patrolling in the River Pines community, when he observed a man driving a Chevy Impala at about 50mph in a 25mph zone. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle, but the driver, a 57-year-old resident of Somerset, failed to yield.
The driver attempted to evade the deputy for about 2.5 miles through the maze of River Pines streets, before mistakenly turning down a dead-end, where he ultimately gave up. The driver, who failed at yielding and escaping, was arrested for felony evading and a misdemeanor warrant.
