August 25, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials issues a reminder that they are fortunate to be part of the San Joaquin Valley Library System, one of the
largest library consortiums in California. One benefit of being a member is having the ability to transit items between library jurisdictions.
So, for example, if there is a movie or book that a patron wants that isn't in our collection, we can request that item and have it sent here for them to enjoy --- at no cost.
During Fiscal Year 24-25, Mariposa County received 32,961 items through the SJLVS delivery service that we did not have as part of our county's collection. That means our community members received 32,961 different items that they wouldn't have been able to enjoy otherwise.
We are proud to be a library that is able to respond to our community's needs, and taking part in the San Joaquin Valley Library System is a big part of that.
