Calaveras Dismantles Large Illegal Marijuana Grow 

August 28, 2025 – Sheep Ranch, CA – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the Calaveras Calaveras County Sheriff logoCounty Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Hubbard Road at an illegal marijuana cultivation operation.

The warrant, authorized by the Calaveras County Superior Court and carried out by the Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET), led to the discovery and eradication of a large-scale outdoor grow site. Deputies located multiple fields of marijuana plants along with two hoop houses containing marijuana in various stages of growth. 3,232 marijuana plants were seized in total.

The marijuana seized at this location had an estimated street value of $315 per pound. With the potential yield from the plants estimated at 3,232 pounds, the illegal cultivation site could have generated approximately $1,018,080 if sold illegally.

In addition to the marijuana eradication, the investigation included environmental crime violations. Calaveras County Code Compliance personnel were on scene to conduct a more detailed investigation into county code violations.

No suspects were located during the warrant service; however, suspects have been identified. The case remains under active investigation.
