August 29, 2025 – ROSEVILLE, CA – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 19,2025, the Honorable Judge Penney sentenced 40-year-old Tyrone Brennen of San Rafael to 38 years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation after a jury convicted him of 68 felony counts tied to the burglary of Foothill Firearms in Newcastle.
On July 22, 2024, Brennen cut a hole in the side of the business and stole 66 handguns. Surveillance cameras captured him leaving the scene.
After a joint investigation led by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Brennen was identified and arrested on August 6, 2024. Detectives recovered stolen firearms and burglary tools directly tied to the case.
