Deadly Crash: Passenger Ejected After Solo Vehicle Rollover
August 30, 2025 – Madera CHP officials report that on Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 12:32 p.m., CHP Madera officers responded to a solo-vehicle crash on Avenue 12, west of Road 30.
A 39-year-old woman from Chowchilla, CA was driving a white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, westbound on Avenue 12, west of Road 30. For reasons still under investigation, she allowed her vehicle to veer off the roadway and onto the right shoulder. The front of the Chevrolet collided into a ditch, overturned, and struck two almond trees. During the crash, the right front passenger (65-year-old man from Madera, CA), was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Despite life saving measures, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
The driver was wearing her seat belt. She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in this crash.
