Missing Person Cold Case – Help Us Find Jeffrey Askren
September 5, 2025 – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that they are still seeking information about Jeffrey Askren, who went missing on May 1, 1984.
Jeffrey, then 30 years old, never showed up for work in Santa Clara. Just days later, his 1978 red Honda Accord was discovered on Winton Road, east of West Point, Calaveras County, CA. Jeffrey would be 72 years old today.
At the time:
- Snow was on the ground, but no footprints were found.
- A camera lens cover was discovered near the vehicle, and a tripod was recovered inside the vehicle.
- Jeffrey was known to carry camera equipment, but no additional items or signs of him were found.
Description at the time of disappearance:
- Age: 30
- Height: 5’9”
- Weight: 150 lbs.
- Red hair, blue eyes
Jeffrey Askren remains missing, and it has now been 41 years since his disappearance.
