During May 2016, 460 residents were unemployed. A drop of 13.2% from May 2015 when 530 residents were unemployed.
The Leisure and Hospitality industry with 2,240 workers during May 2016 employed 250 additional workers (12.6%) from April 2016. Compared to May 2015 the Leisure and Hospitality industry employed 10 fewer workers (-.4%) when the industry employed 2,250 workers.
The Government employed .5% fewer workers during May 2016 (1,960) than in May 2015 when 1,970 people were employed in Government jobs.
May 2016 Mining and Logging employment (20 employees) increased 0% over May 2015 (20 employees).
Construction employment in May 2016 increased 0% from May 2015 as 160 residents are employed.
The Civilian Labor Force came in at 8,040 during May 2016. The Labor Force decreased by 260 residents (-3.1%) from May 2015 when the Labor Force was at 8,300.
There were 7,580 employees in the county during May 2016, a decrease of 180 employees in the county over May 2015 when 7,760 residents were working in the county. That results in a year to year decrease of 2.3%.
