Drug Sales Arrest Following Anonymous Tip to TNT
September 13, 2025 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that earlier this month, Tuolumne Narcotics Team (TNT) detectives launched an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip about a man involved in drug sales within Tuolumne County.
As the investigation progressed, detectives identified 33-year-old Ty Anthony Turpin of Sonora as the suspect. On September 5, 2025, TNT detectives conducted a traffic stop on Turpin’s vehicle in the area of Highway 108 near Main Street in Jamestown.
During a search of Turpin’s person, detectives located an empty prescription pill bottle for Hydrocodone — a-controlled narcotic — that was prescribed to someone else. During a subsequent search of his vehicle, detectives found approximately 35.8 grams of methamphetamine, about 7 grams of suspected fentanyl pills, two glass methamphetamine smoking pipes, multiple bags of unused syringes, and other items consistent with drug sales.
Turpin was arrested and transported to the Dambacher Detention Center, where he was booked on multiple charges related to possession of controlled substances for sale.
