Turlock Mother Arrested Following Childs Drowning

September 14, 2025 – Turlock Police Department officials report that on September 12, 2025, at approximately 3:29 TPD drowningp.m., Turlock Police officers responded to the area of 4500 block of Fireside Drive after receiving a 9-1-1 call regarding a child found unresponsive in a swimming pool.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a 2-year-old girl in the pool and immediately began performing CPR. Despite lifesaving efforts by officers, fire personnel, and medical staff, the child, Daniellé Pires, was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the child’s mother, Kelle Brassart, 40, was responsible for the child’s care at the time of the incident. Detectives also found evidence suggesting that alcohol and/or drugs may have been contributing factors. Additionally, Brassart has had multiple prior contacts and referrals with Child Protective Services in other counties.

Based on the circumstances, Brassart was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Facility on charges of murder and child neglect resulting in death.

“This is incredibly tragic,” said Chief Jason Hedden. “Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and first responders who were impacted by this devastating loss.”
