New Scam Uses Fake TCSO Website to Trick Victims

September 16, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials announce new scam alert.

Sheriff Boudreaux wants to make the public aware of yet another telephone scam going around, that’s using a fake Tulare TCSO scamCounty Sheriff’s Office website to gain credibility with its victims.

A recent victim called into TCSO Headquarters and said just after 9:30 a.m. on 9/11/25, she received a call from someone who identified himself as Sergeant Fulton with Tulare County Sheriff’s Office. He told her that she had a warrant out for her arrest. The suspect then provided the victim with the TCSO website, where he said, she could pay a requested fine of $1,325. Because the website was a replica of the REAL TCSO website, the victim believed it was real and ended up making three payments over Zelle and Chime. Unfortunately, the website he gave her, TCCSO.org is fake.

Sheriff Boudreaux would like to remind the public that we will NEVER call you and ask for money, even IF you have a warrant out for your arrest. If you are wanted, we will come to you, not call you. Please don’t fall victim to these scammers. NEVER give money, bank account information or any other personal information to anyone over the phone. If you suspect you’re being scammed or are uncertain, please call us to verify.
