JCF Hospital Foundation Board Awards Savannah Dent $1,000 Scholarship
September 18, 2025 – The JCF Hospital Foundation recently awarded Savannah Dent a $1,000 scholarship as she works to complete her bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy at Modesto Junior College.
Dent is currently a respiratory therapist at John C. Fremont Hospital. The bachelor’s degree will enable her to learn more through additional study of the profession, allowing her to better serve the community.
“Working at JCF is what convinced me to pursue a BS degree,” said Dent. “I want to improve my department. I care about this hospital and this community and I want to help deliver the best care possible.”
“Breathing is our most basic function and one of the top reasons people come to the Emergency Room,” said Heather Bernikoff, Foundation President and Giving Committee Chair. “In the hospital setting, extremely well-trained people are needed to ensure those with respiratory issues can continue to breathe with greater efficacy and ease.”
“We were delighted to receive Savannah’s application,” continued Bernikoff. “She is committed to the highest quality patient care and wants to learn more about respiratory health. Approving her application was easy.”
