October 3, 2025 – Mariposa County Health & Human Services officials announce that the Senior Wood Program returns on Monday, October 20, 2025.

We are very excited to announce that the Senior Wood Program will be returning this chilly season!

To qualify for this program, individuals must be 60+ and low income, use firewood to heat their homes and have a truck or small trailer. Due to CalFire regulations, firewood cannot be put inside of vehicles.

Individuals who do not have a truck or trailer or are otherwise unable to pick up firewood may designate another person to pick up firewood.

Distribution is expected to begin on Monday, October 20 and will be on Mondays from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.

All applicants need to fill out a new application before the distribution day and are available at the Mariposa Senior Activity Center 5246 Spriggs Lane.
