Man Killed at Wedding, Detectives Search for Suspect(s)
October 9, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4th, sheriff’s
deputies responded to a report of an injured person. Deputies arrived at a home on the 3300 block of S. Congress Ave. in Kerman where a wedding celebration was taking place. The victim was found to have severe injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died. He has been identified as 63-year-old Martin Tovar Zalazar of Kerman.
Homicide detectives and members of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses. Detectives are still working to confirm the primary suspect(s). They did learn this was an isolated incident involving people who knew each other.
