October 11, 2025 – Sonora Police Department officials report that two Sonora females were arrested for felony theft, Sonora PD 2025 logoshoplifting, conspiracy, and unlawful possession of tear gas weapon.

At approximately 9:35 p.m., on Thursday, October 9,2025, officers were on foot doing a patrol check at Walmart when staff advised the officers of a push out that just occurred on the east side of the building. The two females, later identified as 55-year-old April Crosby and Jolie Esposito, got into a white Kia Sorento and left the area and headed towards Jamba Juice. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office later located the vehicle at South Washington and 108 after hearing our radio traffic. TCSO soon conducted a traffic stop in that vehicle.

Jolie Marlene was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for felony theft with two or more prior convictions, conspiracy to commit a crime, and unlawful possession of pepper spray/tear gas.

April Crosby was also booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for misdemeanor shoplifting and conspiracy to commit a crime.

We thank the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office for the help and collaboration.

It’s important to remember that the individuals mentioned in the report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they’ve been charged with. All such charges are all mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. This principle is the bedrock of our legal system and should be respected by all.
