Homicide Victim Identified 

October 21, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report the man who died after being shot Saturday FCSO Godaranight has been identified as 23-year-old Banwari Godara (pictured).  He had recently been living in Fresno but is originally from San Jose.  Detectives have not made any arrests related to his death.

Around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th, Fresno Police officers responded to a shopping center at Shaw and Brawley Avenues in northwest Fresno. They discovered two men near an urgent care center who were suffering from gunshot wounds.  EMS personnel transported both to Community Regional Medical Center. Banwari Godara died and the other victim, a 21-year-old, was treated and released.

Fresno Police later learned the men were shot near a truck repair yard along the 5400 block of S. Cedar Ave., which is located in a county portion of Fresno. Fresno Police contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation.

Deputies responded to the truck yard and found evidence of a crime scene. Homicide detectives were then sent to the yard as well. They learned the two shooting victims left from here in a vehicle with another person. They eventually stopped at the urgent care center.

No other details are available for release as this remains an ongoing investigation.
