The Contestants for this year’s Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty are:

Running for Queen:
Miss Lauryn Martin from Coarsegold

Running for Princess:

Miss Ashley Sedgwick from Snelling
Miss Bernadette Wall from Mariposa
 
Running for Junior Princess:
Miss Shelby Popejoy from Madera
Miss Lily Rumfelt from Mariposa

For the next 40 days these ladies will be volunteering at various events as well as attending practices and workshops to help hone their skills.  Along with being at the fair and in the parade the contestants will be making appearances at a few lunch services at the Senior Center (Wednesday, July 6th and 20th), BBOS Monsters of Mariposa (Saturday, August 6th) Bull Riding at the Fairgrounds and they will be at the Mariposa County Fair Saddle Mount and Gymkhana Show at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 20th, 2016. 

As part of their duties they are selling raffle tickets for $1.00 each for a chance at a $500 Visa card which will be given away on Sunday, September 4th at the Rodeo.  This $500 raffle prize was generously sponsored by Sierra Telephone.  Rodeo Tickets for the September 4th Rodeo can be purchased from the contestants at $10 per person and they are marketing advertising in the rodeo royalty memory book that will be given away at the Rodeo.  On Saturday, August 13th they will all compete in Horsemanship Elements at the Gold Bowl Arena, the Princess and Queen Contestants will have a personal interview and they all will come back together for the On Stage performance at the Rodeo Royalty Family and Sponsor appreciation dinner held later that night.  Horsemanship competition (8 a.m.) is free to the public and there will be limited number of dinner tickets available for advance purchase at $20 per person.
