October 28, 2025 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that on October 24, 2025, at about 11:13 p.m., TCSO Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a confidential victim had been taken against her will approximately two hours earlier by 59-year-old Serge Kiriluk.
During the investigation, deputies responded to Kiriluk’s residence in the Tuolumne area, where they located the victim. The victim told deputies that Kiriluk had come to her location in the Jamestown area and forced her into his truck during a domestic violence incident. She also reported that Kiriluk brandished a rifle at her during the incident.
Shortly after contacting the victim, deputies contacted Kiriluk at the front door of his residence. Kiriluk refused to exit and closed and locked the door after being informed he was detained for a domestic violence investigation.
The TCSO Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) was called to assist. After various attempts at communication with Kiriluk, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team also responded to assist. Following additional announcements and continued attempts at communication, Kiriluk eventually exited the residence and was safely taken into custody.

Kiriluk was transported to the Dambacher Detention Center, where he was booked on the charges of 273.5(A) PC – Corporal injury on a person with a dating relationship, 207(A)PC – Kidnapping, and 417(A)(2)(A) PC – Brandishing a firearm.
We want to thank the residents of Tuolumne City for their patience during this incident. We know that the use of the loudspeaker was not ideal due to the early morning hours, but we use all the tools available to us to help achieve peaceful resolutions with minimal force.
