Team Effort Reunites Father and Son 

October 30, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Tuesday, a father and his adult son were hunting in the area of Balch Camp. The two became separated and the son never made it to their meet-up spot at their agreed upon time.

There was no cell phone service in the area, but luckily the father found a PG&E worker in the area who had a Starlink satellite phone. They used the phone to place a call to Sheriff's dispatchers and filed a missing person report.

Patrol deputies, along with our EAGLE One helicopter, responded to begin a search. Firefighters, park rangers and members of the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife later joined the search.

Shortly before 5:00 p.m., deputies found the missing man. He was uninjured and reunited with his father.
