November 5, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on November 1, 2025, at approximately 7:24 a.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 900 block of Sanford Street regarding a report of a found juvenile. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a 17-year-old female who disclosed that she and her 14-year-old sister had been abducted from an unknown location in Oakland, California, by two adult male suspects.

The juvenile victim reported that after being taken, both she and her sister were transported to the Bakersfield area, where they were forced into prostitution by the suspects. The victims were allegedly monitored using tracking devices while being coerced to engage in sexual acts for money with multiple unknown individuals. The suspects reportedly operated in the area of Olive Drive and Knudsen Drive.

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit and the Sheriff’s V.E.C.T.O.R. Unit (Violence and Exploitation Counter Trafficking Operations and Response) responded and assumed control of the investigation.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspects as:

• Donald Edward, 34 years old
• Myles Wilkerson, 20 years old

Both suspects are accused of kidnapping, human trafficking, and sexually exploiting minors. Search warrants were served at the Vagabond Inn on Knudsen Drive, where investigators located evidence consistent with illegal prostitution, human trafficking, and the molestation of a minor.

Both Edward and Wilkerson were taken into custody and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Jail on multiple felony charges. The 14-year-old juvenile was not located and is currently listed as a critical missing juvenile under case number 2025-00138678.
