Move over and slow down. Lives depend on it! 

November 6, 2025 – CAL FIRE officials announce that recently, a CAL FIRE engine was struck by a passing vehicle while assisting at a crash scene. Thankfully no firefighters were injured, but this could have ended differently.

This incident follows several recent roadway collisions involving first responders across California. When you see flashing lights, move over and slow down. Give firefighters, law enforcement, tow truck drivers, and all emergency personnel the space they need to work safely.

Every second they spend on the roadside is time spent protecting others. Your extra few seconds of caution could save their lives.
