Good news! We have had responses to our need for a board member to fill a vacancy that will occur in September. We are happy that people in our 5-community service area read this newspaper, as well as several other newspapers that are kind enough to run our monthly news update. We mainly use our updates to let people know about our spay/neuter program and how to contact the individual who can assist them. In this case, at least one person read about our board vacancy and expressed an interest in serving. Our by-laws, which are a requirement of the non-profit status we enjoy, specify a five person Board. If we fail to operate with five members we could no longer be considered a non-profit organization.
At our Annual Dinner, which is held on Friday, September 9th, of this year, we will distribute ballots and elect officers. This serves as a reminder to members that we will convene at 6:00 p.m., at the Coulterville Community Center. We would appreciate your making an RSVP call to Carmel at (209) 878-3134. As usual, we will have a picnic-style dinner, and there should be plenty to eat.
