Passenger Killed After Being Ejected in Roll-Over Crash 

November 9, 2025 – Madera CHP officials report that on Friday, November 7, 2025, just after 9:30 a.m., CHP Madera Area officers responded to a traffic crash, on southbound SR-99, north of Avenue 11.

Officers learned the following: A 39-year-old woman from Chowchilla, CA, was driving a maroon 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, southbound on SR-99, north of Avenue 11, in the #1 lane. A 33-year-old woman from Merced, CA, was driving a gray 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, southbound on SR-99, within the #1 lane, ahead of the Suburban. A 78-year-old man from El Paso, Texas, was driving a white 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, southbound on SR-99, in the #1 lane, ahead of the Malibu. The Malibu and Lincoln came to a complete stop, due to heavy and stopped traffic ahead. Due to the unsafe speed of the driver of the Suburban, she was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the Malibu. After this impact, the Suburban veered into the center median, overturned, and landed on its wheels, partially on the metal guardrail. A rear passenger in the Suburban (52-year-old woman from Madera, CA) was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced deceased at the scene, by emergency personnel. The driver of the Malibu and an additional passenger in the Suburban sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

This crash is still under investigation. Alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in this crash.
