High-Country Health Food and Cafe in Mariposa California

November 23, 2025 – Sonora Police Department officials report that on Saturday, October 25, an employee at Gold Country Gas reported receiving a fictitious $10 bill from a female customer who had fled the scene. Officers ultimately identified 38-year-old Jennifer N. Prins of Tuolumne City as the suspect. Later that day, Prins was arrested for burglary and passing a fictitious bill after the officer conducted a follow-up interview. The investigation also linked Prins to a previous open case from September, where she passed a $100 bill in Sonora. Officers later served a search warrant at her residence, seizing additional contraband connected to the crimes.

The availability of privately owned surveillance cameras in the area proved valuable, providing objective evidence supporting the allegations and assisting with a prompt identification of the suspect.

It's important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they've been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
