November 26, 2025 - Sierra National Forest officials report beginning today (Wednesday), Forest Order No. 05-15-52-25-18 will be terminated, and Forest Order No. 05-15-52-25-19 will be in effect. The majority of the area affected by the Garnet Fire will continue to remain open to public access. Please, be aware that numerous hazards remain, and Sierra NF staff and our contractors will continue to mitigate hazard trees, unstable slopes, and damaged roads.

Please be particularly cautious when entering this area.

Infrastructure that will need to remain closed due to excessive risk includes Black Rock Campground (managed by PG&E), as well as the Sawmill Flats Campground and Ross Crossing Camping area. These specific locations will be listed on the Recreation Site, Road and Trail Closure Forest Order, No. 05-15-00-25-19 available on our website.
