November 27, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that a Madera County family has much to be grateful for this season. When their 14-month-old daughter began choking on the soft end of a pacifier, caregivers immediately called 9-1-1. Deputy Aguilar arrived quickly and began life saving measures. Working together with the caregivers, the obstruction was successfully dislodged. Paramedics transported the child to Valley Children’s Hospital as a precaution. She was released shortly after and is doing well.

We are incredibly grateful for attentive caregivers and the training that our deputies receive to be able to provide the best care for our community.
