November 29, 2025 – Merced CHP officials report that on Thanksgiving night, Officer Jimenez and his partner responded to a two-vehicle crash caused by an impaired driver. The impact sent the impaired driver’s vehicle into a rollover, ejecting one of the dogs inside. The dog, a Frenchie, was found safe and reunited with its puppy that had remained in the vehicle. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, which is not always the case in crashes involving impaired driving. The driver was arrested, and arrangements were made for the dogs to be returned.

During the holidays, families want to be together. Choosing to drive impaired puts lives at risk and is completely preventable. Plan ahead, make responsible choices, and help keep our community safe.
