Three Arrested for Copper Wire Theft 

December 2, 2025 – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, November 30th, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals connected to a copper wire theft in a new development area of West Roseville near Bluebell Lane and Royal Lily Avenue.

Callers reported suspicious activity in the area after hearing the sound of power tools. They also noticed a white BMW parked near the location where the suspects appeared to be cutting wire.

Deputies responded to the area and located a vehicle matching the description on Baseline Road, approximately three miles from the area that the theft occurred. A traffic stop was conducted, and the three occupants were identified. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located brass valves, copper pipes, copper wire, and power tools believed to be used in the theft.

All three suspects were arrested and booked into the South Placer Jail on theft-related charges.

Rigoberto Velasquez, 32
