The Mariposa Museum and History Center has begun its Summer Docent Program for 2016. Through gracious donations from our members, community, businesses and associations, we will be able to hire 7 high school students to work as docents this summer. This will be a great experience for the students as they receive an introduction to the history of Mariposa and real job experience. For many of the students, this will be their first job experience. The students went through the job application process with interviews and training. They will learn how to greet visitors and show them the wonders of the Mariposa Museum. They will also learn how to work the museum cash register and assist museum visitors with any question they have. The Museum will benefit from the experience by having these new helping hands and excited faces to bring more life to the museum. It is a real “Win Win” event for all those who will be involved.
