Jail Work Crew Update
December 9, 2025 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that they’re excited to announce our Female Work Crew is now operational and has assisted Animal Control with a range of tasks in recent months.
In the last five months, our work crews have logged approximately 2,404 hours of service. Their efforts have included roadside trash pickup, homeless camp cleanup, wood chip spreading at Heaven for Kids Park, support work at the Mi-Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Station, painting at our new Communications Center, caring for our department goats, continued roadside brush removal in the Pinecrest area, and general brush clearing and weed eating throughout the county.
We have many additional community service projects lined up, so keep an eye out for our crews as they continue to build job experience while making a positive impact in our community.
If you or your organization has suggestions for accessible, public-facing cleanup projects—such as graffiti removal, brush clearing, weed eating, or general labor—please reach out to our dedicated Jail Work Crew phone line or email.
