Long-Term Organized Retail Theft Investigation Leads to Arrest and Recovered Stolen Property 

December 19, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that a long-term theft investigation originated FPD retail theftin the City of Fresno in August 2025, after Amazon employees noted that a third-party delivery driver failed to deliver packages to the arranged customers, and he did not return the packages to the Amazon facility.

After conducting an internal audit, Amazon employees found that the thefts occurred from January 2025 through the end of November 2025. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as well as determined that the suspect was responsible for over $4,500 in stolen packages.

On Thursday morning, the Fresno Police Department’s Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Tactical Team, the Fresno Police Department’s Northwest Organized Retail Theft detectives, served a search warrant North Seventh Street and East Shields Avenue related to this long-term theft investigation. Detectives were assisted by Amazon Loss Prevention employees.

During the search warrant, the identified suspect was taken into custody, and detectives recovered numerous suspected stolen items. The recovered items were returned to Amazon. The value of the recovered stolen property is estimated to exceed $950. The suspect was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of grand theft and possession of stolen property.
