December 29, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on Saturday, December 27, just after 9:00 p.m. Modesto Police Officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting near Paradise Avenue and Wade Avenue. Initial reports indicated two subjects had been shot.

Officers arrived on scene and located one adult male suffering from a gunshot wound and another adult male who had been assaulted. The gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries and is expected to survive. The other male was treated and released.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation. The investigation is continuing, with Detectives learning this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
