Arrest Made in TCSO Special Victims Unit Investigation 

January 6, 2026 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Special Victims Unit (SVU) has made an arrest following a month-long investigation involving the sexual assault of a minor.

During the investigation, detectives were assigned a case involving a 14-year-old juvenile who had recently given birth. Through investigative efforts, SVU detectives identified 47-year-old Delfino Miguel Montes as the suspect and the biological father of the child.

On January 3, 2026, detectives located and arrested Montes in the City of Lindsay. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the South County Detention Facility.

Montes was arrested for violations of Penal Code 288(c)(1) (lewd and lascivious acts with a minor), Penal Code 288.4(a)(1) (arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes), and Penal Code 288.4(b) (attempted contact with a minor for lewd purposes).
