January 7, 2026 - Clovis, Calif.— The Sierra National Forest (SNF) is requesting public input for the California 2027 Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program application cycle. An important part of the grant process is gathering input or project ideas from members of the public, individuals, and organizations, to be included in the 2026 submission for 2027 calendar year. This feedback will be considered in development of the preliminary grant applications and as final applications are prepared.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the SNF will host a in person and virtual open house Meeting on Microsoft Teams, between 5 P.M and 5:30 P.M is our Public Meeting. Members of the public and OHV partners are welcome to attend. After a short break, our stakeholders’ meeting is 5:45 to 6:15. The stakeholder meeting is for those that may not be involved in OHV but may have an interest, such as a landowner next to OHV trails on the Sierra NF. These meetings allow for review and comment on the preliminary 2026 grant cycle application(s). Feedback from the meeting and the public comment period will be considered in the development of preliminary grant application(s) being sent to the State of California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR). 2026 Grant Cycle – Important Dates to remember:
• January 9, 2026: Grant application process begins
• March 2, 2026: Preliminary applications are due by 5:00 p.m. (PST)
• March 3, 2026, to May 5, 2026: Public review and comment period by
5:00 p.m. (PST)
• June 1, 2026: Final applications are due by 5:00 p.m. (PST)
• June and July 2026: OHMVR Division review of final applications
• August 3, 2026: Application Results - Intent to Award posted on the
OHMVR Division website
• September 2026: Final awards posted on the OHMVR Division website
upon resolution of any appeals
