unknown speed. Due to Mr. Shatka's level of intoxication, he drove off the roadway, west of road 201, where the vehicle collided with a fence and then a tree while the truck overturned and caught fire.
Cody Shatka was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.
Upon CHP arrival, he was evaluated and determined to be Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Mr. Shatka was arrested at the scene for DUI but was transported to Clovis Community Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries to his head.
As a result of the collision a vegetation fire ensued, covering 2.6 acres. Fire personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
