Man Arrested on 23 Counts of Child Sex Crimes; Detectives Seek Additional Unreported Victims
January 23, 2026 – Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office officials report that in May of 2024, a social worker contacted the Sheriff’s Office after a teenage patient disclosed being sexually abused by a family member, Christopher Brinson, when she was between the ages of 6 and 10.
Following a lengthy investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Bureau, multiple victims were identified and an arrest warrant was obtained. Brinson was arrested in Alabama on December 9, 2025, extradited to the Sacramento County Main Jail, and is currently held without bail on 23 felony counts of Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child Under 14 years of age.
Detectives believe there are additional victims who have not yet reported their abuse. Some may have been friends of Brinson’s children. The suspected abuse began more than 30 years ago and continued over a significant period of time.
Brinson’s current booking photo and an older photo from 2000 are being released due to concerns that victims may recognize him from different periods of their lives. He has lived throughout various areas of Sacramento County, Northern California, and other states, raising concern for additional unidentified victims.
