February 3, 2026 – Mariposa County Library officials announce that they are excited to welcome poet, author, professor, and wildland firefighter Rachel Richardson on Thursday, February 5 at 5:30 p.m. Rachel will share poems from her latest poetry collection, Smother. Rachel will discuss writing about wildfire, training for wildland firefighter certification, and building a community-based writer workshop.
Rachel will be joined by county finalists from the national Poetry Out Loud competition, who will recite poems. This event will be led by poet and professor Megan Levad Beisner.
