February 7, 2026 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, February 6, 2026, detectives served a warrant at two neighboring residences in the area of Ellis Street and Lake Street for narcotic sales. During the execution of the warrant, detectives contacted 46-year-old Madera resident, Khalid Ramsey.  Detectives located over 6 ounces of methamphetamine, a scale, drug packaging material, and over $1,200 in cash. Both of these residences were within 110 feet of James Monroe Elementary School and detectives determined that drug sales were taking place while children were attending school. Ramsey was arrested and booked at Madera County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales and sales of a controlled substance with 1,000 feet of a school.
