February 13, 2026 – Mariposa County Library officials announce that in February, the library’s Literacy Program will be focusing on health literacy, by offering lectures from local health experts. Bring your lunch and join us on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 12:00 noon - 1:00 P.M. Registration is required in person at the library or you can phone 209-966-2140.

Participants will earn a raffle ticket for each session attended for prizes donated by our presenters. Additional health related information and resources will also be available at each session from valued partner organizations.

Week 3: How to Get the Most from Your Appointments

Although Cheryl Berg is currently involved with the Mariposa County Library’s Adult Literacy Program, she brings many years of experience managing employee benefits and a wellness program serving approximately 500 to 1,800 people respectively. Cheryl is a passionate patient advocate who believes everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and confident in their healthcare. Drawing on real-world experience and practical insight, she helped people make the most of their doctor’s appointments—preparing thoughtful questions, communicating concerns clearly, and leaving visits with clarity and peace of mind. With a friendly, relatable approach, Cheryl empowered individuals to take an active role in their health.
