February 13, 2026 – Clovis Police Department officials report that detectives are investigating a smash-and-grab robbery that occurred on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Kay Jewelers near Herndon and Sunnyside. Just before 6:30 P.M., officers were dispatched to the jewelry store for multiple calls for a robbery in progress. Employees and customers ran for cover as 4 masked suspects entered the store. Two suspects smashed multiple glass cases with large sledgehammers as the other suspects grabbed the jewelry. In less than 2 minutes, the suspects ran out and left in a silver sedan.

Responding officers completed their initial investigation as detectives were called out. Officers located the abandoned stolen getaway car in a neighborhood nearby, and it is being processed for evidence. Surveillance cameras are also being reviewed from inside of the store, at neighboring businesses, in the parking lot, and surrounding intersections. Detectives are looking into the possibility of this robbery being connected to others like it around the state. The store is completing an inventory to determine how many pieces of jewelry were stolen. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries during the robbery.
